In Hannover, almost every square meter seems to be utilized to its fullest. This is partially a function of its being a rather large city, but even in bigger cities such as Houston, space just seems to be wasted sometimes. The primary reason for this phenomenon, I think, is the general compactness of Europe. I mean, really, there are a TON of people here, and just not that much area! I am constantly finding little niche gardens, storage areas, and places to rest. Sprawling out just doesn’t seem to be the cool thing to do here.
